Question about Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Lumiere Edition
« on: May 27, 2025, 10:15:24 pm »
I was wondering why the Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Lumiere Edition for PS5 has a [CA] at the end of it? Was there a specific Canadian release? My copy doesn't have any French text or any evidence it's from Canada. Listing is here: https://www.vgcollect.com/item/282204

Few eBay listings from Canada have been present since this game's physical release, but the artwork which the original entry creator dvjsa1130 submitted features English and French text. So, perhaps a CA version exists but we're just not aware of it. Meanwhile, there is plenty of evidence available that an English-only version exists. Whether the current entry art is stock art or not and was finalized to only feature English text, I don't know. I will reach out to dvjsa1130 and hopefully gain information about the image and original intent of the entry.

There are no other versions in the DB. TLD should not be on those two entries. If another version actually exists, then those version must be added for the TLD to remain on these entries.

But it seems to be that the stock photo for the US version of both of these have the bilingual ESRB simply because the normal release of the game uses it. They can both be updated to using the actual images of the US release and drop the TLD from both.

I have already reached out to the entry creator regarding the matter. The reason why I originally supplied the TLD is because it is presumed a CA variant exists based on the art submitted alongside wanting to avoid other members from possibly converting a presumed CA entry into a US one. However, that is the reoccurring problem we often deal with because we allow images to be submitted that are obviously stock art. Until that issue is fixed, these sorts of scenarios won't ever cease, whether a TLD is formally added to them to circumvent future issues or not.
