Original release with a game-breaking bug that happens during the second play-through of the game, specifically when visiting the 9th floor of the tower where the game will crash when speaking to an NPC/opponent named "Jon", who the player has to defeat in order to properly beat the game. SNK Playmore announced on June 6, 2007 that fixed copies of the game would be available in stores on June 25, 2007. Customers who already owned the game were given the chance to ask for a replacement, where they were sent a fixed cartridge alongside a package of King of Fighters trading cards. The recall ended on January 2008. The fixed version of the game features a black and white graphic behind the title on the cartridge's label, while bugged versions feature a full-color label. This bug is only present in the North American version of the game. |
