02-07-2016	Flashback2012	Description	Strider (Strider Hiryû in Japan) for the Mega Drive (Genesis in the U.S.) is a port of the original coin-op game onto Sega's 16-bit system. This conversion is the most well-known port of the coin-op as well as one of its most faithful recreations, in part thanks to the Mega Drive's hardware being very similar to Capcom's CPS-1 board. Though the staff working on the game is the same one from the coin-op, the game was designed in-house by Sega themselves. This is attributed to Capcom having a third-party developers' license for Nintendo's consoles at the time. Nintendo did not appreciate their contracted developers working on competing systems, so Capcom lent their staff to Sega to program it in-house as a way to avoid potential lawsuits. Attesting to this is a 1990 copyright mark on its title screen separate from the 1989 Capcom copyright, claiming it is a "reprogrammed game" by Sega. This version has been made available for download in Japan through Nintendo's Wii Virtual Console, going up for 600 Wii Points.
